UFC Betting Lines
A money line is what you will see in baseball and hockey and it is also used in matchup betting for sports like NASCAR and golf. UFC betting lines are based on money lines. UFC betting lines will have favorites and underdogs. A big name fighter like Randy Couture would have had a high money line in UFC betting while some unknown would be a big underdog.
For example, let’s say Chuck Liddell was fighting a relative unknown. He might be 30-1 or more in terms of UFC betting lines. That would mean you would have to risk $30 for every $1 you wanted to win on Liddell. On a $100 basis it would be $3,000 to win $100.
In a competitive UFC bout the money line would be more what you would see in a baseball or hockey game. For example, let’s say you have one fighter at -150 and the other fighter at +130 in UFC betting lines. In this UFC betting example you would risk $150 for every $100 you wanted to win on the favorite and get back $130 for every $100 risked on the underdog. The UFC betting lines will move just as they do in other sports. People bet one fighter and the odds will rise. The sportsbook adjusts the UFC betting lines accordingly to try and balance the action. Keep in mind that you get whatever the odds were when you placed your wager against the UFC betting lines. If you bet a fighter at -150 and he went up to -200 you get the -150 price in UFC betting.
Keep in mind as you look at UFC betting lines that you want to treat UFC betting just as you would other types of sports betting. You still need knowledge, a bankroll, money management and discipline. You should keep your wagers at 5% or less of your overall bankroll as you consider UFC betting lines. You don’t want to go overboard and start wagering huge amounts of your bankroll against UFC betting lines. Keep yourself in control and treat UFC betting just like any other type of sports betting.
